Jennifer Williams joined Oak Grove Elementary as principal in 2025. A dedicated educator with over 17 years of experience, Ms. Williams brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion for student success to our school community.
Ms. Williams joins us from Marietta City Schools, where she served in multiple leadership roles, including assistant principal at both the elementary and high school levels, special services administrator, ESOL Coordinator, and ESOL teacher. Her career began in the classroom as a fourth-grade teacher in Florida, where she built a strong foundation in teaching and learning.
Ms. Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction—both from Kennesaw State University.
Outside of school, Ms. Williams enjoys spending quality time with her family. She especially cherishes visits to her hometown in South Florida, where she relaxes on the beach and reconnects with loved ones.
We are thrilled to have Ms. Williams lead the Oak Grove family and look forward to her leadership in helping every student thrive.
Holly Miller, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Holly Miller is excited to join the Oak Grove Elementary team as Assistant Principal. She is entering her fifth year as an assistant principal with the Cherokee County School District and brings 23 years of experience in elementary education.
Mrs. Miller began her educational career teaching fifth grade, where she spent 14 years developing a strong foundation in instructional practices and student achievement. She later expanded her experience by teaching first and second grades, gaining valuable insight into the developmental needs of younger learners. Prior to becoming an administrator, she served as an Early Intervention Program (EIP) teacher, STEM teacher, MTSS Chair, and 504 Coordinator.
Mrs. Miller holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Piedmont University.
Outside of school, Mrs. Miller enjoys spending time with her husband and supporting her two daughters at their volleyball events. She also enjoys relaxing with her dog, traveling to the beach, and reading a good book.
Mrs. Miller is honored to serve the Oak Grove community and looks forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. She is committed to fostering a positive learning environment where every child is supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Karen Wells, TSA Assistant Principal
Mrs. Karen Wells is an experienced educator with 23 years in elementary education, serving students across kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fourth and fifth grade ESOL classrooms. Throughout her career, she has taught in three states, including nine years in the Cherokee County School District and four years in Fulton County, nine years in Florida, and one year in Michigan.
Upon joining the Cherokee County School District, Mrs. Wells taught ESOL and first grade at Oak Grove Elementary School STEAM Academy and is excited to return to a school community that holds a special place in her heart. For the past five years, she has served as an Instructional Lead Strategist at R.M. Moore Elementary School STEM Academy, supporting teachers and students through instructional leadership, curriculum implementation, and data-informed practices that promote academic growth and achievement.
Mrs. Wells earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Michigan State University in 2002, a Master’s degree in Reading from University of South Florida St. Petersburg in 2008, an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University in 2020, and a Tier I Educational Leadership Certification from Piedmont University in 2022. She also holds endorsements in ESOL, Gifted, and Coaching. Her dedication to furthering her education reflects her commitment to excellence in teaching and her belief in continuous personal and professional growth.
Passionate about student success, Mrs. Wells is dedicated to creating engaging learning experiences that foster curiosity, collaboration, and a love of learning. She believes in empowering students to become critical thinkers, effective problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
Outside of school, she enjoys camping, exploring unfamiliar places, and spending time outdoors with her husband and their four dogs. She also loves spending time with friends and family. Her love of adventure, meaningful relationships, and lifelong learning reflects both her personal and professional approach to life.
Mrs. Wells looks forward to joining the Oak Grove family once again and supporting students, staff, and families as they work together to build a strong and thriving school community.
