In the principal’s words: “Mr. and Mrs. Townsend are very well known at R.M. Moore. They embody what it means to give back to their community. They’re active volunteers and donate their time freely. For years, they have solely taken care of our courtyard, containing a rock with Native American carvings. They have worked with the Historical Society to keep its history intact, while keeping the surrounding gardens freshly mulched and landscaped. This is done on their own time and their own dollar. They also help organize school functions, volunteer in the classrooms and serve on committees.”
